What things should I know before Eyelid Surgery?

An expert eyelid surgeon is the most important thing you should look for.Upper eyelid excess skin resection may limit natural closure of your eyes. As soon as the eye looks tired or sad. This may be in some patients at early 30 s. But most patients between 40 and 50 years. Patients between 60 and 70 years can also be candidates, but most of the time is for purely functional reasons.

Local or General anesthesia.?

​

​It is generally performed under local anesthesia and it takes one hour and a half to two hours. When patient is also needing a facelift, Blepharoplasty is performed under General anesthesia.

​How is my postoperative in my Blepharoplasty?

​You should put some cold gauze, and never ice directly over the eye.   Stitches are removed 3rd to 5th Day.

If I had a previous surgery with another surgeon and I'm not satisfied, can I re-operate with Dr. Pavajeau to correct it?

​If the other surgeon resected too much skin, skin transplantation or a skin graft may be an option. However, the result will never be natural. Therefore, the most important thing is to have a good first surgery.  

If the first surgeon left some excess skin a mall additional resection of skin will improve the problem.
